    The Commandant's office

In the Commandants office there were eight men; his aide, two of
his immediate subordinates, the three soldiers who had escorted
her, the young guard from the previous night and the Commandant
himself. Self important behind his desk, he looked her up and
down with distain. The other men looked her up and down with a
    frankly sexual interest.

The Commandant started to gabble at her in Spanish. "No speak,

  • Tamika's Choice

Tamika Jones took one final look at herself in the bedroom mirror. She had
taken pains to prepare herself exactly as Rodney had asked; no required was
    the better word.

Before she had met Rodney, getting prepared for a date was simple - or at

Cold probably at this time of the year with that wind shaking the trees and bushes but fortunately not wet. Chilly indeed but wet, no. Grey but the forecast last night had not mentioned any rain.

Porridge she reaffirmed looking out of the kitchen window. Yes, definitely a porridge day, something traditional, warming and wholesome for the insides. None of that modern bran or yoghurt muck or worse ‘breakfast biscuits.

    5. Evan Morgan - A Time for Action

(From the Private Diary of Evan Morgan)

    ***

I couldn't take my eyes off him.

He was in the middle of my big king-size bed with my
soft satin sheets pulled up under his chin. His chest
rose and fell unsteadily, and he was having trouble
    breathing.

He was unconscious. I tried to gather my thoughts as I
considered the savagery that must have been used
against him as I felt the tears once again trying to
    escape my eyes.
